'Kind of a long time ago' (1953), I was born in Panama City Beach, Fl. My parents moved
to Miami, sister was born, then on to Miramar where we enjoyed a sunny Florida childhood.
I spent most of my time reading and daydreaming about life as an island castaway or a
prairie pioneer. I've always had a love of history/cultures and was intrigued by how they
made something from nothing.
I married at 20 and became a mother at 24. My most loved job! I taught my three boys
that the love of learning and using your imagination could take you anywhere in life.
A few years later I painted a bird house and had such an overwhelming response to my
creations that I entered an arts and craft show. Thousands of paintings, hundreds of
shows, Dyan @ Island Style and twenty shops later I still create what I love. I named
our business Coni's Cabins for the bird houses that I painted - hoping one day I'd sell
enough to buy a real Cabin : ) My art is inspired by the beauty of the simple life, whether
it's at the beach or in the woods. My drive is inspired by those who choose to overcome
obstacles in life and make it something from nothing!
